Phil launches the third SPAM® Cook of the Year competition. Over the next six months I will be encouraging people to get back into the kitchen and experiment with SPAM®, the most convenient yet high-quality food. You have until 31st August 2010 to develop your very own SPAM® recipes and upload, together with a picture, via the SPAM™ Fan Club (You must register on the Spam website in order to view this page). All recipes will then be put to an online vote to determine the finalists from across seven regions: Scotland, North East, North West, The Midlands/Anglia, South East, South West and Wales. The budding chefs behind these recipes will subsequently be sent to London to take part in a ‘cook-off’ at the Good Housekeeping Institute in London on 12th October – where I will have my judging hat on. The overall winner - The 2010 SPAM® Cook of the Year - will get a two night stay for two including dinner, breakfast and a spa treatment courtesy of Oxford Hotels and Inns and the winning recipe will inspire a dish on one of the hotel’s menus. In addition we will be announcing two runners up who will each get a one night stay for two and breakfast, again courtesy of Oxford Hotels and Inns. All you have to do when you come to upload your recipe is follow the link below and register free of charge with the official SPAM™ Fan Club, which will then take you through the few simple steps necessary to upload your recipe. Once your entry has been submitted you will also receive a signed photograph of the lovely Phil Vickery. For further competition updates keep logging on, or alternatively visit the official SPAM® Cook of the Year Facebook Group, Twitter page or sign-up to the Fan Club today to access Phil’s very own SPAM® creation - Mild Curried SPAM™ Pilaff with Cashew Nuts.
