Ingredients
 

  • 500 g lean minced beef
  • 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
  • 1 tsp tomato purée
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp freshly milled black pepper
  • 25 g unsalted butter

For the Glaze

  • 2 tbsp runny honey
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 2 tbsp water or beef stock
  • 4 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • pepper
  • salt

Instructions
 

  • Place the mince, onion, egg white, garlic, tomato paste, cumin and black pepper and mix well.  Then form into about 16 small balls.
  • Heat the butter in a frying pan, add the meatballs, cook on all sides for about 10 minutes. Get rid of any fat that may come from the meatballs; this will ensure the meat browns nicely.
  • When cooked, tip-off most of the fat and add the honey, tomato ketchup, Worcester sauce and stock or water. Swirl around the pan and reduce slightly, so the meatballs coat evenly. Serve with chunky sweet potato puree
