Ingredients
 

  • 3 large onions, very finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 pint good strong beef stock
  • salt
  • freshly milled black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil, add the onions and cook for 20 minutes to soften, gently with a lid on.
  • Add the flour and mix well.
  • Add the stock and again cook gently for 20 minutes or until cooked and thickened.
  • Season well with salt and pepper, serve.
