Ingredients
 

  • 120 g unsalted butter
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • 275 ml double cream
  • 1 tbsp black treacle
  • salt to taste
  • squeeze of lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Make the sauce by placing the butter, salt, sugar, treacle and cream together into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Whisk well until you have a thick sauce.
  • Remove from the heat and add the lemon juice and vanilla extract.
